Eric “The Preacher” Yow!
No doubt you have heard the hype about the next big thing to hit the billiard industry, “9 Ball.” I was just as excited about this promising spectacle as Tony Palma when I was able to read the script. What a treasure this will be, knowing that such a brilliant and talented man is behind this work – not only did Palma create the story for “9 Ball,” but he wrote the screenplay and is both director and producer of this masterpiece! The world needs a new, inspiring hero story and this movie will be exactly that! After reading the screenplay I became confident that this will take the billiard industry by storm and become a huge mainstream success. I am honored to be a part of this. Having worked with Jennifer Baretta before, I know that she is the perfect woman for the role of Gail. Her performance thus far has been impeccable.
With my background in Artistic Pool (trick shots), and having won the title WPA Masse World Champion, I know that I have a lot that I can bring to this film. The work I do on the table is such that many have never even dreamed. It will be a pleasure to bring my abilities to the big screen. In the movie, I play myself, Eric “The Preacher” Yow. I will meet Gail (Baretta), who will be amazed by my expertise, particularly at the masse (a shot where the cue is elevated and strikes the cue ball downward, imparting massive amounts of spin). I build a rapport with Gail and teach her how to shoot a masse shot, giving her the ability and the inspiration to continue her journey to the top. This will be a stimulating part of the movie and I can’t wait to be a part of it!
With the ambition and aptitude, despite all adversity, Gail presses onward to overcome obstacles that we all face. But, where most would throw in the towel, we will watch as Gail climbs her way to the top. Will she succeed? What will she have to sacrifice to achieve her goals? With all odds against her, does she have what it takes? I look forward to seeing her journey play out on screen, to laugh, to cheer, to enjoy the excitement that only a stellar producer, a star cast, and a magnificent screenplay like this can bring! What an honor it is to be able to work with such a creative and insightful independent filmmaker like Tony Palma. He is truly a visionary and just the sort that an incomparable work like this demands. With his hands on the wheel every step of the way, this is sure to be an indescribable success!
