9-Ball Press Releases:“9-BALL” IS IN PRODUCTION For Immediate Release Main Street Productions is in production on the independent feature film “9-Ball” with a great cast including real life International pool champion, Jennifer Barretta playing the lead role of Gail, the young woman who is striving to become a professional. Also featuring Jeanette Lee who gives Gail guidance on how to accomplish her goals. Tony Palma, producer and director of “9-Ball” is quoted as saying, “It’s great to be in production on this exciting and dramatic independent feature film “9-Ball”, and based on our current production schedule we are planning a summer release date.” Palma is quoted as saying, “The story “9-Ball” has been compared to “The Hustler” and ‘The Color of Money.” My intention is to produce the first great pool movie that focuses on women in pool especially a young woman whose goal it is to become the women 9-Ball Champion and all the hurtles she has to overcome to reach her goal. I have the pleasure of working with one of the world’s top professional 9-Ball pool players, Jennifer Barretta who knows from her real life experiences exactly what it takes to become a pool professional and then a 9 ball champion. Jennifer Barretta is quoted as saying, “This project is the most exciting thing happening in pool right now and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. Main Street Productions welcomes Kurt Hanover to the cast of "9-BALL." "I was approached to play the role of Joey after director Tony Palma had seen me in a film called "FIGHT NIGHT." After reading the script, I was impressed with how much heart "9-BALL" had. Playing Joey will be a fantastic challenge; he's a dark and complicated character that really drives a lot of what happens in the film. Working with Tony and the incredible cast and crew that he's been able to bring together is going to be amazing."

The "9-Ball" Fan party took place on Friday October 30th in New York City at the AMSTERDAM BILLIARD CLUB. Main Street Productions, "9-Ball," and friends would like to extend a special thanks out to Greg Hunt, owner of AMSTERDAM BILLIARD CLUB for providing his famous pool room for this special event. The cast was able to meet with each other and the fans that are very excited about this film.

Breaking News Bata Reyes and Django Bustamante to star in Hollywood movie MANILA, Philippines -- The magician Efren "Bata" Reyes, former world no.1 Francisco "Django" Bustamante and 2007 Women's Amway World Pool Championships finalist Rubilen "Bingkay" Amit have been cast to star with American Jennifer Barretta in a movie dubbed as "9-Ball." The film is scheduled to begin principal photography on June 15 at Universal Studios. This independent film will be directed and produced by Main Street Production's Anthony Palma, who is also the creator and writer of the movie. Ralph Clemente is the movie's executive producer. Palma, in a statement said: "It is an honor and privilege to have these three great pool players now part of the cast of "9-Ball." Pool players and fans of the sport everywhere can look forward to seeing the best of the best and most exciting pool players in the world. The movie promised to be an exciting story geared to be one suspenseful, dramatic and authentic pool movie. "It’s a great honor for our country for Efren (Reyes), Django (Bustamante) and Rubilen (Amit) to become part of the American Film 9-Ball," said Rolly Vicente of Puyat Sports Stable. "I will try my best to bring honor to our country just like what our men players are doing," said the 25-year-old Cebuana Amit in a recent interview. In the film, the audience will get the chance to see how and what made them Reyes, Bustamante and Amit made it big in the sport. Actually, the film is about a young, up and coming pool player who breaks away from hustling pool in the back rooms of bars to follow her dream of becoming the Women's 9-Ball Champion of the World. Barretta, who plays the lead role said: "This project is the most exciting thing happening in pool right now and I'm excited to be a part of it. '9-Ball' is destined to become a classic." The film has also garnered excitement from other greats such as Karren Corr and Julie Kelly who have already served as technical advisors on the script. The two have also been cast to play roles in the movie. "After reading the screenplay for '9-Ball' I was more impressed than ever to be involved with this film. "9-Ball" is the first film produced that combines women's professional pool with a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat… Gail is a young woman with a lot of guts, determination, and ambition to become the 9-Ball Women's World Champion. Since talking with, and meeting Tony Palma the Producer of the exciting new feature film “9-Ball” I have been very interested in working with Tony to promote this film. Playing professional 9-Ball is a major part of my life, I compete in tournaments worldwide, and see the growing interest of pool in every country that I play. People love to meet at their favorite poolroom, and play for fun or if they’re more serious they join a league. Pool is a great game for everyone, and as a woman professional player I see more, and more couples, and women playing pool then ever before. After reading the screenplay for “9-Ball” I was more impressed than ever to be involved with this film, “9-Ball” is the first film produced that combines women’s professional pool with a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. “9-Ball” is a dramatic, suspenseful story of a young woman (Gail) who develops a love of playing pool as a child when she goes to watch her father play. After realizing that Gail is a great natural player Vicky the owner of the poolroom where her father plays helps Gail learn many tricks of the game. Vicky knows that Gail could be the World Champion if she dedicates herself, and makes it her goal. As the story progresses we see Gail suffer much abuse, and manipulation from her uncle (Joey) who knows Gail is a great player, but he wants to control her, who she plays, and keep the money she wins for himself.
