Here at Lucasi Hybrid we are proud of our high quality standard for our products and have been devoted to the Billiards industry to consistently create new state-of-the-art cues with advancing technology for every player's needs. I am especially excited to share our product in the upcoming feature film "9 Ball" and to have our cues in the hands of champions including Jennifer Barretta and the BCA's own Allison Fisher. The talent and hardwork that has gone into the making of this film has been evident over the past few months of planning. I am confident this movie will promote our products and the entire billiards industry in a positive and exciting way. Also, from a woman's point of view, having women players highlighted and showing the struggles of becoming a professional poolplayer is both interesting and inspiring for anyone. Lucasi's new and classic cues will be seen throughout the movie including our newest Hybrid and Big Beulah cues. This will be one of the greatest billiards movies of our generation and will clearly have a lasting effect on players of all ages; Lucasi Hybrid is honored to be a part of it.

Kurt HanoverMain Street Productions welcomes Kurt Hanover to the cast of "9-BALL." "I was approached to play the role of Joey after director Tony Palma had seen me in a film called "FIGHT NIGHT." After reading the script, I was impressed with how much heart "9-BALL" had. Playing Joey will be a fantastic challenge; he's a dark and complicated character that really drives a lot of what happens in the film. Working with Tony and the incredible cast and crew that he's been able to bring together is going to be amazing."

Gail's story couldn't be told at a better time. Pool is slowly working it's way back into the mainstream and "9 ball" could be the catalyst for another pool explosion, much like "The Color of Money" was in the '80's. The only difference is that this time it won't only be the boys out buying new pool cues! With an exciting plot line full of twists and turns interwoven with Gail's touching story of loss, exploitation and redemption, "9 ball" is not just a pool movie, it's really a coming of age story. Sheltered as a child and controlled as a young adult, Gail discovers that her true passion is to leave the bars and smoky pool halls behind and set her sights on being the #1 player in the world. This project is the most exciting thing happening in pool right now and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. "9 ball" is destined to become a classic.

All the best,

Jennifer Barretta

Since talking with, and meeting Tony Palma the Producer of the exciting new feature film “9-Ball” I have been very interested in working with Tony to promote this film. Playing professional 9-Ball is a major part of my life, I compete in tournaments worldwide, and see the growing interest of pool in every country that I play. People love to meet at their favorite poolroom, and play for fun or if they’re more serious they join a league. Pool is a great game for everyone, and as a woman professional player I see more, and more couples, and women playing pool then ever before.

After reading the screenplay for “9-Ball” I was more impressed than ever to be involved with this film, “9-Ball” is the first film produced that combines women’s professional pool with a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. “9-Ball” is a dramatic, suspenseful story of a young woman (Gail) who develops a love of playing pool as a child when she goes to watch her father play. After realizing that Gail is a great natural player Vicky the owner of the poolroom where her father plays helps Gail learn many tricks of the game. Vicky knows that Gail could be the World Champion if she dedicates herself, and makes it her goal. As the story progresses we see Gail suffer much abuse, and manipulation from her uncle (Joey) who knows Gail is a great player, but he wants to control her, who she plays, and keep the money she wins for himself. Gail is a young woman with a lot of guts, determination, and ambition to become the 9-Ball World Champion. “9-Ball” is a film that you want to see, and after you see it to go shoot pool.

Julie Kelly a World Champion 9-Ball player, and top ranked WPBA player says:” The film “9-Ball” is a great story about a young woman who has to overcome major hurdles in her life in order to achieve her goal as Women’s 9-Ball Champion of the World. I can identify with the main character Gail who has total dedication to going after the Championship, she has the kind of drive that we all want to have. Gail won’t let anything stop her; she is just going to stay focused, and go straight for the championship. This is an exciting story, and I am happy to be working with Director, Producer Tony Palma as part of the team to produce this suspenseful, dramatic, and authentic pool movie. I also like that it is about a woman pool player, we’ve seen great pool, movies about men, but “9-Ball” will be the first one about women.  You go Girl.”
